what if no species ever went extinct? would this be positive or a negative thing?

i think that if no species ever went extinct it would be a negative thing because the we wouldnt have the technology that we have today because we'd still be fighting the dinos!! and then we'd all be eatten by the giant shark called Carcharodon Megalodon aka the Magatooth so no i dont think it would be a good thing if species never went extinct
